Thai Tran, PA-C was born in Vietnam. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1979 and lived in Memphis, TN for most of his youth. His family moved to Houston, TX where he graduated from Klein Forest High School in 1995. He then moved to Southern California to pursue his interest in medicine.
Thai graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills with Honors in 2003 and then went on to graduate from Western University with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. With his elective training opportunities, he focused them in general and trauma surgery at Arrow Head Regional Medical Center in San Bernardino, CA. Through his experience at AHRMC, he found a passion in Orthopedics specialty. He finished his training with a preceptorship in Orthopedic Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
Thai graduated from Western University and became board certified in September 2006. Shortly thereafter he joined Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in February 2007. Under his supervising physician, Dr. Alain Elbaz, he continued his specialized training in minimal invasive arthroscopic shoulder surgery and anterior muscle sparing hip replacement.
He enjoys assisting and practicing with Dr. Elbaz at AOSM because of the emphasis on providing patients with the most advanced, up-to date, conservative and surgical treatments to various orthopedic conditions.
